This entire compilation is the brainchild of Johnny,
and he put a lot of time into the tracklisting. We

This a cd only release, and is for sale in our store (link
is over there on the right column). We lowered all
of our prices as well on everything. We are trying
to accommodate the overseas people who get screwed
over with the high shipping rates, which seem to
keep going up and up and up...

Mock & Toof est Duncan Stump (Mock) & Nick Woolfson (Toof) sont actuellement deux des plus créatifs producteurs de musique en Grande Bretagne. Ils se sont fait un nom via des 12 » parus sur notamment DFA Recordings, et ont réussi à se forger une réputation de brillants remixeurs (Hot Chip, Zero 7, Holy Ghost!,The Juan Mac Lean ....)
Leur premier album Tuning Echoes vient de sortir, il est très chanté et très pop, c'est un joyeux bordel dans lequel les deux producteurs mélangent house music, disco, afrobeat, electro, pop ... un air familier sans déjà-vu, ca fait penser à Talking heads, Roxy Music, Depeche Mode ou LCD.
La sauce prend et nous entraine en dansant sur des ritournelles naïves mais efficaces, un disque qui rend heureux.

Repéré par la sortie l'année dernière du EP intitulé Miyamae et encensé par la majorité de la blogosphère britannique indépendante et soutenu par la BBC radio,
il nous revient cette année avec You, un nouveau maxi de cinq morceaux, l'ambiance est donnée : raffinée, sensuelle et délicate, l'œuvre peut paraître difficile d'accès par ses structures électroniques minimalistes mais elle se révèle au final dotée d'une incroyable force mélodique.
Proche de Four Tet ou d'Animal Collective, ce jeune et talentueux producteur de 20 ans a l'avenir devant lui.
